HAIR REMOVAL IN ONCOLOGICAL PATIENTS

DEPILACIÓN EN PACIENTES ONCOLÓGICOS

We understand that individuals undergoing or who have undergone oncological conditions may have received a variety of medical treatments that could significantly impact the skin.

Therefore, before performing any waxing treatment, it is essential to obtain approval from their physician. Waxing treatments can irritate the skin, and in the case of already sensitized skin, this irritation could be exacerbated.

Key Considerations for Clients in This Profile:

In all Starpil protocols, we recommend combining the roll-on system for large areas such as legs and low-temperature wax for more sensitive areas like the bikini line, underarms, and face.

  1. Choose High-Quality Products: Whether it’s waxes, pre- and post-depilatory cosmetics, hygienic strips, or any other materials, quality is crucial when it comes to hair removal.
  2. Use Proper Technique: Technique is one of the most critical aspects to consider, as poor technique could trigger adverse skin reactions in clients. It’s essential to be particularly cautious with these clients.
  3. Select Products for Sensitive Skin: Creamy Waxes: Choose waxes containing Titanium Dioxide, a mineral-derived powder that makes the product more selective in targeting hair rather than skin. This reduces adherence to the skin, minimizing potential damage.
  4. The Importance of Cosmetics During Treatment: As professionals, using specialized cosmetics during waxing treatments is fundamental.

Not only do they deliver superior results, but clients also notice the difference in how their skin feels post-treatment. This attention to detail builds loyalty among clients. With many untrained practitioners in the field, employing cosmetics designed to cleanse, regenerate, and hydrate the skin throughout the process is crucial.

Key Depilatory Cosmetic Products:

Prepil:

This product is the only one applied before waxing, suitable for all body areas.
It serves two main functions:

  1. Cleansing and sanitizing the skin before the treatment.
  2. Strengthening the outer skin layer, thanks to witch hazel water in its formula.

Because waxing involves mechanical exfoliation, using Prepil is essential for all skin types, particularly for sensitive skin.

Post-Epil Retarding Emulsion:

A water-oil emulsion that is pleasant to use and easy to apply.
It contains regenerating, restructuring, calming, anti-inflammatory, and moisturizing active ingredients. Designed for application to any body area.

Post-Epil Oil:

This product removes residual wax while hydrating the skin.

Tip: Mix the emulsion with the oil for optimal hydration, ideal after the mechanical exfoliation caused by waxing.

Post-Epil Retarding Mousse:

With the same formula as the emulsion, this lighter-textured product is ideal for areas like underarms and the bikini line or for clients who prefer a non-oily sensation on their skin.

Acid Cream:

Its primary feature is to regulate the skin’s pH.
Since waxing alkalizes the naturally acidic pH of the skin, restoring its proper balance is critical for skin protection.

It can be applied to the face or any areas where the skin appears more reddened, though it is suitable for use on any body area.

Treating the skin before and after waxing, combined with the use of high-quality waxes and precise techniques, ensures optimal results and complete client satisfaction.
